Stay at Parish House Inn for the High Scope Conference

The annual High Scope Conference is coming up in April at the Ypsilanti Marriott. The Parish House Inn is a Victorian bed and breakfast located just 1 mile from there. For 16 years we have had the privilege of hosting many conference attendees, and offer a special rate of $89 per night plus tax. That also includes a full breakfast, soft drinks, cookies and popcorn. Plus we are walking distance to restaurants and shops in Historic Ypsilanti. Just go to our website, click on the "check availability" tab and you can see which rooms are available. Then you can book it right on line. Just add a note that you are attending the conference and we will adjust the rate.

We also are just 1 mile from the High Scope Foundation....about a 20 minute walk thru a park and Depot Town. It makes for a pleasant stay for your summer training as well. The rate is the same. We look forward to hearing from you!

Tour Motawi Tile Works in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area

On Tuesday I visited a unique business in our area ... the Motawi Tile Works. Free guided studio tours of the facility are held every Thursday at 11AM . Other days and times are available by appointment for $5 per person. The tour is about 1 hour and includes a walk through of the entire process. There is a retail shop where their decorative tiles are available for sale. It is a truly unique business in our area that has a national presence.
Their location is an easy 15 minute drive from the Parish House Inn, where we can help you plan the rest of your day.

Visit a new business in downtown Ypsilanti, Michigan

This is a wonderful new shop to explore on your next visit to the Parish House Inn. Check our website for availability. http://www.parishhouseinn.com

MEET OUR NEIGHBORS
mix new and used

Long-time friends and fellow artists, Bonnie Penet and Leslie Leland, had for years dreamed of having a store-preferably in Ypsilanti-preferably on Michigan Avenue. When the space adjacent to What Is That Gallery became available, it seemed like the perfect place. Within weeks of opening, though, Mix was outgrowing its physical boundaries. Good fortunate struck again, when Leslie and David Austen offered to swap storefronts, giving Mix roughly twice as much space as before. Both Bonnie and Leslie say they love being downtown, working with the other downtown merchants.

Now, only three months old, Mix is humming with business and bursting with wonderful finds. Although as much as 70-80% of their business is in clothing, you can find beautiful jewelry, whimsical art, unique home goods and so much more. You really have to experience Mix in order to appreciate the variety and quality of items offered.

If you've enjoyed shopping Bonnie's clothing racks at the Crossroads Music Festival performances, don't despair. They'll be back again this year; they'll just bear the Mix tag now. And look for Mix to spill over onto the sidewalk when the weather gets warm.

Not a business to be button-holed, Mix truly is a mix - and that's just the way Bonnie and Leslie (and their customers) like it!

Visit mix at 130 West Michigan Avenue or become
